2. Acquisition Trends Among Established Players: Sizeable, yet not overwhelmingly large, tech firms will continue their role as active acquirers.

3. Fate of Early-Stage Companies: A significant number of early-stage companies are expected to either be acqui-hired or cease operations due to financial constraints.

Implications for the Canadian Tech Ecosystem:

• The year 2024 is likely to culminate in a more robust and reliable tech ecosystem, marked by the survival and potential success of enduring companies.

• Liquidity events are expected to rekindle interest from angel investors and others, though this resurgence may not materialize until late 2024 or early 2025.
