The aftermath
Our takes and breakdown of the Federal Budget announcement
Like many of you, we were disappointed by the 2024 Federal Budget. This week we are going to share two pieces on our take.
Today's will focus on what we would have liked the budget to look like and our next piece will be on how you can make a difference going forward.
The following is the message we wished that the Federal Budget delivered but know we will never see:
Our focus with today's budget is to lay the longterm framework to ensure Canadian's have the best quality of life in the world. We are going to prioritize working with our counterparts across the country to delivery of the following services to our country:
Education and training to obtain gainful employment
Pro-active healthcare that extend your life and the quality of your life.
Safety for your family and your assets
Infrastructure that lowers the cost of transportation and doing business
Access to affordable housing
We will do this while reducing the budget and paying off our debt to ensure long-term flexibility. This will be a long journey that will result in a more productive country with the highest possible quality of life.
How do we get there?

We drive efficiency via the adoption of technology and by simplifying regulations and bureaucracy.
Simplification of regulations with a focus on enabling more competitors in our economy to move faster while still providing the safety our citizens deserve.
We will be providing a list of 10 technology initiatives where we will work with provinces and municipilities to improve services that we offer while reducing costs. Priority in sourcing will be given to Canadian start-up and scale-ups that have a track record of competing globally.
We work with our counterparts to reduce internal barriers to trade and make it easier for competitors to enter the market
We will be focusing on attracting and training trades and health professionals without the required skills we can not fix our health systems or build more housing. We will work on fast tracking credentials from other countries.
Any project or initiative that we do will have to support the aims above or be cut. We know this will not be popular but we believe that providing by improving education, health, safety, infrastructure and housing we will provide a higher quality of living for all. The improved productivity will lift all boats.
We will provide a follow up piece to this one on how you should react to the budget announcement.
