We asked Montreal's investors one question: which companies here are growing so fast you'd tell your friends to watch them? We got a lot of nominations, and they're still coming in. On Tuesday night, nine of those companies took the spotlight at Espace CDPQ.

Some were first-timers on the list, a few have been here more than once, and every pitch made the room lean in a little closer.

Maket is going after the design field AI skipped

Music, video, and software have all been reshaped by generative AI, while architecture still runs on tools only professionals can use.

Patrick Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Maket, and his team tackled that by building an AI architect for everyone else, and 1.5 million people have already used it to generate more than 8 million floor plans. Nominated by Amiral Ventures and Front Row Ventures.

Gridbank is betting people should get paid for their data

Laura Lalonde started Gridbank around a simple question. Our phones already collect almost everything about us, so why don't the people creating that data get a cut? Gridbank pays everyday people for the real, phone-shot videos brands now want in their ads.

One of those people is an 87-year-old contributor who opens the app every day because it makes him feel useful. Gridbank is now at $2M in ARR, and 90% of the people who contribute to it earn money. Nominated by StandUp Ventures.

nesto now sells its tech to the banks it set out to beat

nesto launched in 2018 to make getting a mortgage less painful, and an NPS above 75 says it worked. The interesting part is Nesto Cloud, which takes the software nesto built for itself and offers it to the same big banks it was competing with.

With a nearly $1.5B valuation, $85B in mortgages under administration and 200 engineering hires planned for the next three months, this Montreal fintech unicorn wants to run underneath everyone else's mortgages too.

Deck is building the logins AI agents will need

AI agents still hit a wall whenever a platform has no API, and that covers a huge share of the portals holding our bills, statements, and accounts.

Deck's engine logs in and runs those workflows anyway with a 99.97% success rate on complex connections, and it processed millions in agent payments last year. The founders built and sold Flinks before this, so Luge Capital knew exactly who it was backing the second time. Nominated by Luge Capital.

Billdr wants to own construction's second shift

For a general contractor, the workday keeps going after the site closes, with invoices, change orders, and client texts filling the evening.

Billdr pulls all of that into one system for about 500 contractors managing roughly a billion dollars in construction volume. Hugo Piso, co-founder and CTO, shared on stage that Billdr moves into payments and procurement next year, which puts it in the middle of the money as well as the paperwork. Revenue already grew 4x last year. Nominated by White Star Capital.

Planned is running events for OpenAI, Lego and Nike

Planned takes corporate events off a team's plate, pairing AI-powered planning software with a dedicated event manager. That saves companies the roughly 120 hours of work that usually go into a single event.

OpenAI, Lego and Nike already run events with Planned, and the company is at a $300M GMV run rate, growing 4.5x year over year. Nominated by N49P

Haply Robotics is teaching robots the way surgeons work

Haply Robotics builds what co-founder and President Colin Gallacher calls the steering wheels for physical AI. Its controllers let a person guide a robot by hand and feel the pressure and resistance it meets, and every one of those movements becomes training data for robots learning to work in warehouses, factories, and labs.

More than 150 customers already use it, including 30 Fortune 500 companies, with clients from Gucci to Sony. Haply grew 150% last year before raising US$11.75M.

Stay22 is helping creators earn from every trip

Stay22, a travel tech company, made the list three times. It helps travel creators, publishers and event sites earn money every time their audience books a trip. It has since grown to support creators of every kind and announced a US$122M investment in February 2026.

Ten years of steady compounding on just US$1.5M of outside funding before that round is its own kind of Rocketship. Nominated by Real Ventures.

Zeffy changed who pays for fundraising

Most fundraising platforms take a cut of every donation. Zeffy covers those fees itself and asks donors at checkout if they'd like to chip in, so charities keep every dollar.

More than 50,000 organizations now raise money on Zeffy, with over $1B in donations processed. Nominated by Real Ventures.

Next stop Ottawa 🚀

The 2026 Rocketships tour started in Vancouver, landed in Montreal this week, and heads to Ottawa on Nov 4. Reserve your spot.
