๐ IT'S OFFICIAL. THE NATIONAL TOUR IS ON.
Monday night, we hosted the first stop of the TechTO Rocketships National Tour - a curated evening kicking off Web Summit week with the companies scaling fast and the VCs putting their name behind them.
Six companies took the stage. Here's who showed up.
VitaminLab, nominated by Relentless Pursuit Partners, is personalizing supplements from the inside out - custom-formulated from your DNA, blood tests, and health history, manufactured in their own GMP-certified BC facility.
Soma Energy, nominated by Chris N., is solving the AI economy's power problem without waiting for new infrastructure. Built by the team that ran energy systems at AWS, they emerged from stealth last month with $7M USD and are currently optimizing 2GW of electricity.
Slate, nominated by N49P, is bringing embedded lending to Canadian SaaS platforms - so SMBs get credit natively, without their platform becoming a bank.
GroundedAI, nominated by StandUp Ventures, turns complex 3D underground data into actionable insights for mining and tunneling teams. Built from the lessons of RockMass Technologies, active across Canada, Australia, and Brazil.
Blossom Social, nominated by Weave VC, is the social investing network where 500,000+ retail investors share verified portfolios and real trades - not opinions, actual brokerage activity - across 30+ countries.
Asset, nominated by Ripple Ventures, is building a financial coordination layer for business owners - connecting every financial product, business and personal, into one system.
Congratulations to all six. And thank you to LaBarge Weinstein LLP for supporting the tour.
More about our National Tour?
Every company that takes the Rocketships stage lands on the shortlist for the annual Canadian Rocketships List.
The tour runs coast to coast - Vancouver was stop one, and the road goes all the way to Toronto City Hall on December 1.

BUILT IN TEN HOURS.๐ค๐ง
Matthew Chan and Julia Sung had worked on school projects together. When a hackathon came up, they signed up. Ten hours later, they'd shipped Smii - a video journaling app where AI surfaces your own progress back to you at the moments you need it most.
Showing up is the move. You don't need the perfect team or the perfect idea. You just need to be in the space where the thing can happen. See what's coming next.
๐ฅ Smii - AI video journaling with emotional memory | $1,000 cash prize
๐ฅ Vibe Modify - strips overwhelming websites to what matters | Apple Watch
๐ฅ Socials Engineer - rebuilds trending reels in your brand voice | AirPods
Dozens of first-time shippers. One day. All stateful, all shipped.
Thanks to Backboard.io for the memory infrastructure every team built on, Klue for opening their Vancouver space, and our co-host Althra for making it all possible.

BEFORE YOU MISS HIM LIVE.
At Together Montreal on April 28, Nipun Sharma, CEO & Co-Founder of Appetronix, joined Alex Norman for a fireside on what it actually took to build a fully autonomous restaurant from scratch, and take it global from Canada.
The proof points:
โ First autonomous Donatos kitchen went live at John Glenn Columbus International Airport in June 2025, the only restaurant open after 7pm in all three terminals
โ 750 million social media impressions in week one of launch
โ $12M+ raised. Donatos became their largest investor after launch
โ Last month: acquired Cibotica to expand from pizza into multi-cuisine robotic kitchens
โ Target: 400,000 airports, hospitals, universities, and office towers globally
โ His promise to Donatos: bigger than Domino's in five years
"Zume Pizza raised $400 million US dollars. Seven years to launch an autonomous pizza. Couldn't do it. And here's a small company from Canada. We commercialized in 14 months for $1.2 million."
Going global from Canada isn't a tagline - it's a decision you make every day.
Nipun made it when he took a Canadian-built robot to Columbus, signed one of America's most iconic pizza brands, and started targeting a trillion-dollar market from a team of 12.
That's exactly the kind of story TiEQuest was built for.
