Where learning and community come together
PROFILE
We’re disco-vering something new
Today, we learn about Disco, where learning and community come together.
We love learning about the people, companies and initiatives that are bringing people together. Today we focus on Disco who is offering the tools and support to build and grow global learning communities.
What is Disco?
Disco is an AI-powered social learning platform that allows educators and virtual academies to create learning content and engage learners 10x easier and create an easier path towards discovery and entrepreneurship.
What inspired the idea?
Long-time friends and seasoned entrepreneurs, Candice Faktor and Chris Sukornyk, co-founded Disco with a shared passion for community, learning, and creating top-tier platforms.
Prior to Disco, Candice expanded Wattpad to 80 million users, turning it into the largest platform for creators to share stories, which was sold for $660 million in January 2021. Chris has founded six other venture-backed startups, including Chango, which was acquired in 2015.
What do the next 12 months look like?
The potential of further blending AI with learning to create even more personalized, efficient, and impactful learning experiences is top of mind for Disco as they continue to build and advance their solution.
THROUGH THE ARCHIVES
Candice spoke at a previous TechTO event about living in a transition age. Prior to Disco, this conversation is very fitting given the transitions we have seen amongst the tech market and industry in recent years.
